the forthcoming new album! From Gothrock (as a member of The House Of Usher 1999-2003) to club-ready Minimal-Synth-sounds (QEK Junior, since 2005), DOMINIC DAUB is truly musically versatile and yet always consistent in what he does. As QEK JUNIOR, he has been releasing music from time to time since the mid-2000s on labels such as Danse Macabre, Hertz-Schrittmacher/Kernkrach and currently Y&C. Before the release of the new album „Das Gespenst der Freiheit“ („The Ghost of Freedom“), this kind of ‘Best of’ CD could not be a better introduction to the music of QEK JUNIOR. „Art Brut“ contains tracks from all previous releases, which is a welcome opportunity to catch up, especially for people who missed the early vinyl releases. There is also a foretaste of the new album in the form of some unreleased songs. With 17 songs, it really is an all-round-feel-good-package. Musically, there is driving, danceable Minimal-Synth with German-language lyrics (including Daub´s own quirky humour) and some EBM influences, too. If you don't get your feet tapping in the Club or at Shows, you really can't be helped. A meaningful view back in time before QEK JUNIOR open a new chapter with the upcoming fourth album. |
