| Info: | THE classic E6 album (from 2007),
for the first time EVER on (double) vinyl, and including 5 bonus-Tracks! Metropolis Records and Electric Six are excessively excited to present ‘I shall exterminate…’ on an excessively sexy double LP on TRANSLUCENT RUBY RED vinyl. And, since it's already excessive, and the band had access to its archives, Electric Six added an excessive amount of bonus material. You gotta say yes to another excess. Electric Six has plenty of access to excess. Upon embarking on this recording journey, Electric Six had an excess of free time. So they purchased an excess of foodstuffs from “Trader Joe's” and hunkered down to record, excessively. Every song in one way or another is the result of excessive access to excess: from the jazzy cabaret-ish album opener "It's Showtime!" exploring what happens to a band when it plays in excess of 250 shows a year in front of... people (Hint: excessive resent and anger at... people), to the radio-ready Coldplayish "When I get to the green Building," a beautifully textured musical tribute to Domino's Farms in Ann Arbor/Michigan, to the triumphant new wave/stoner rock big bang in the magnificent "Dirty Looks," the most Shakespearian of the E6 catalogue closing the album of excess in such an accessible way. When it's all said and done, Electric Six feels that they've done a good job at weaving fun, good times and highoctane pleasure into the fabric of this crazy world, damned by its excess. Formed in Detroit in 1996 and still helmed by charismatic frontman Dick Valentine, Electric Six are renowned for combining elements of garage rock, new wave, punk, disco and metal alongside large dollops of comedy into their music. The group first achieved widespread recognition in 2003 with the smash hit singles ‘Danger! High Voltage’ and ‘Gay Bar’ (XL/Beggers Banquet) and have released new studio albums on a regular basis. They perform extensive tours every year and have built a substantial following |
