Info: | Corde Oblique's eight studio album
is being released exactly on the day of their 20th project Anniversary
(2005-2025) and was inspired by the omonymous Bergman's movie "Cries
and Whispers" (1972). For this new masterpiece of an album, Corde
Oblique decided to split it in two parts: Volume 1 ("CRIES")
featuring the more Post Metal / Folkgaze inspired tracks Volume 2
("WHISPERS") for classic Ethereal / Post folk sonogs. In total, the
album includes 10 unreleased tracks composed by mastermind Riccardo
Prencipe plus a cover of the band Alcest ("Souvenirs d'un autre monde")
and one solo guitar song (Satie's "Gnossienne" n. 1). Also ‘Cries and Whispers’ features a number of guest musicians from bands such as IRFAN, SPIRITUAL FRONT, members of ASHRAM and acclaimed Italian actress Maddalena Crippa. All the sounds, voices and musical instruments that you can hear on this album have been performed, played, sung and recorded by real musicians and voices. Corde Oblique did not use any midi, samplers or sequences, apart from the good old metronome. Album pictures by Hardijanto Budiman (Multiple awards winning photographer from Indonesia) Corde Oblique is: Riccardo Prencipe (classic guitar, acustic guitar, electric guitar) with Rita Saviano (voice on tracks 01, 02, 03, 09, 11) Caterina Pontrandolfo (voice on track 04) Denitza Seraphim (voice on track 02) Simone Salvatori (backvoice on track 09) Maddalena Crippa (spoken voice on track 13) Edo Notarloberti (violin) Alessio Sica (drums) Umberto Lepore (bass, double bass) Luigi Rubino (piano) Michele Maione (percussions) Salvio Vassallo (analogue synths) Daniele la Torre (mandolin, mandola) |
